WPC joist or Steel joist?which is better?
Joist selection is a very important issue.The joistis the structural system that supports the composite decking and loads.wpc is made of a large amount of thermoplastic plastic mixed with wood powder. It is a creeping material (can be compared to a candle). Under long-term load and high temperature under direct sunlight, it will undergo creep deformation, and the middle part will slowly bend and sag. In addition,wpc itself is susceptible to length changes due to temperature differences and humidity. Therefore, it is not suitable as a structural material. The advantage is that it is cheap, easy to operate, easy to cut and construct.
If we want to replace the old wooden floor with composite decking, can we use the original frame?
If you use the original joist, you need to judge several issues first.
1. What is the material and usability of the frame? We recommend using stainless steel. 2. Joist support density? Depending on the board material, thickness, and length, the skeleton spacing will be different. The center distance of our skeletons is within 35 centimeters. 3. If the frame is made of stainless steel and is suitable for use, the frame will also need to be patched and adjusted according to the layout configuration.
